The North Carolina Tar Heels are set to enter Atlantic Coast Conference play at 2-0, fresh off a win over ETSU on Saturday. But now the schedule gets tougher, and that starts on Saturday against the Clemson Tigers.
The Tigers enter this matchup 1-1 after losing in Week 1 at LSU and then winning their Week 2 matchup by beating Georgia Southern. While they beat Georgia Southern, the Tigers still looked sloppy at times, which leaves to some big questions. But now, they have some injury issues at quarterback.
Pete Thamel reported on Sunday that Clemson quarterback Christopher Vizzina suffered an elbow injury and is considered week-to-week. However, he will NOT start agaisnt North Carolina this week and instead it will be freshman Tait Reynolds making
his first career start.

Reynolds has played in both games so far this season for Clemson, completing 20 of his 33 attempts for 200 yards but has yet to throw a touchdown or an interception. He's a three-star recruit out of Queen Creek, Arizona and was the No. 31 overall quarterback in the 2026 class.
For North Carolina, this presents another opportunity for the defense to get off to a good start this season. A win over Clemson would be huge to open up their 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference schedule.
