A month away from taking the basketball court, your North Carolina Tar Heels are thriving on the class of 2027 recruiting trail.
On Thursday, top overall recruit C.J. Rosser announced he'll visit UNC this coming weekend. North Carolina isn't allowed to host football recruits Saturday vs. ETSU, stemming from a 2025 recruiting violation, but Rosser is a basketball recruit.
The Tar Heels got more good news on their 2027 recruiting front, as Top-12 target Darius Wabbington recently canceled Friday's visit to Louisville.
According to his 247Sports recruiting profile, Wabbington is the class of 2027's 12th overall ranked recruit, second-ranked center and third-ranked overall prospect from Arizona. Wabbington plays his high school basketball at Sunnyslope
in Phoenix.
This cancellation likely means Wabbington is no longer considering the Cardinals, a bit surprising considering how head coach Pat Kelsey revitalized that once-storied program from its dismal Kenny Payne era. Wabbington is now down to Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Texas and UNC.

Wabbington previously set his official visit to North Carolina for the weekend of October 30-November 1. The Tar Heels are hosting CFP National Championship runner-up Miami (FL) in Kenan Stadium for a marquee football clash that weekend, giving Wabbington a great look into the sports atmosphere in Chapel Hill.
UNC currently has 11 offers extended to class of 2027 recruits, with Wabbington one of three centers. Fellow Arizonan Paul Osaruyi is another 5-star center in North Carolina's mix, along with Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) big man Lewis Uvwo.
Will Wabbington cancel visits to additional programs and further consider the Tar Heels amongst his finalists? October 30 can't come soon enough.
