North Carolina is attracting the right headlines, thanks to Michael Malone's proven ability to attract high-level talent
. Seemingly every time a member of Tar Heel Nation opens their phone, Malone is involved with a new class of 2027 recruit.On Thursday, Malone and an unnamed UNC assistant spent time at Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale (Fla.), watching 5-star targets Lewis Uvwo and Nasir Anderson.
According to his 247Sports recruiting profile, Uvwo is the class of 2027's seventh-ranked overall recruit, the top-ranked center and fourth-ranked
Floridian prospect. Anderson, who'll be visiting Chapel Hill over Halloween weekend, is the class of 2027's eight-ranked prospect overall, third-ranked point guard and fifth-ranked Floridian prospect.
Malone previously offered Uvwo, who doesn't have a visit to North Carolina set yet. With Malone taking time out of his schedule to watch Uvwo on Thursday, there's increased hope for a visit in the near future.

The Tar Heels' 2026-27 roster is all but set. Malone retained Jarin Stevenson, Isaiah Denis and Jaydon Young from a season ago, landed a 3-man high school recruiting class, then caught eyes with a massive transfer portal haul and two international additions.
