A few months ago, the Los Angeles Lakers announced that their G League affiliate was moving out of UCLA Health Training Center and into Acrisure Arena near Palm Desert, Calif., which resulted in that affiliate being renamed the Coachella Valley Lakers.
This change will not only allow people in the Inland Empire to watch some of the prospects within the Lakers organization, but it also created space inside of UCLA Health Training Center, which serves as the franchise's training facility and headquarters.
The franchise has filled in that space by installing two new basketball courts that can be used for practice sessions, via Lakers Nation.

General manager Rob Pelinka said that the move of the organization's G League team will result in more space that can be filled with labs for biomechanics, movement and recovery.
This is one positive change that has taken place lately despite the drama surrounding the franchise's ownership situation. In just the last handful of days, majority owner Mark Walter agreed to sell his majority stake in the team to Josh Kushner and Bob Iger just 10 months after buying that stake from the Buss family. Then on Monday, five of the six Buss siblings -- with the exception of Jeanie Buss, who is the Lakers' governor -- voted to sell their 17.8% remaining stake in the franchise to Kushner and Iger.
