Conor McGregor is looking to make his UFC comeback with a bang.
McGregor (22-7 MMA, 10-5 UFC) returned from a five-year long layoff against Max Holloway at UFC 329 in July, but wound up blowing out his knee from the first kick he threw. The 38-year-old underwent surgery, and insists on completing the final fight of his UFC contract.
McGregor referenced Canelo Alvarez's win over Christian Mbilli Saturday in Riyadh when gloating about his record-breaking accomplishments. He wants to top them once he returns from ACL surgery.
"How many views did the Canelo fight get? How many in attendance? Gate?
Man I outdo ALL of these people in sales. Majorly. EVERY SINGLE ONE. With ease. Maybe even combined.
I don't even be trying.
I was on the same time as the World
Cup semi final and still done all them numbers in that last bullsh*t that I’ve to sit with for another few months before I return.
I’m going to actually try to sell the fight for my next one. My final fight. See what numbers I can generate. Keep outdoing my own records."

McGregor holds the record for most pay-per-view buys in UFC history when his grudge match against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 drew an estimated 2.4 million buys. His fight against Floyd Mayweather ranks No. 2 for most PPV buys in boxing history at 4.3 million.
