Does double the Rosas mean double the "Chiwiwis"?
Only time will tell, but perhaps that question will be answered in short order as Jessie Rosas, brother of Raul Jr., has signed with the UFC for an Aug. 8 bout vs. Miles Johns. UFC Fight Night 284 takes place at Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
Following a first report from Heavy, two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Rosas (8-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) enters the UFC after stops in UWC, Urijah Faber's A1 Combat, Fury FC, and 559 Fights among other promotions. He has two knockouts and four submissions in eight appearances. Rosas, 23, is two years older than Raul, 21.
Johns (15-5 MMA,
6-5 UFC) is in need of a win after three straight losses against Felipe Lima, Jean Matsumoto and Daniel Marcos. The 32-year-old bantamweight has been on the roster since 2019.
The updated UFC Fight Night 284 lineup includes:
- Mateusz Gamrot vs. Quillan Salkilld
- Diego Ferreira vs. Billy Quarantillo
- Amanda Lemos vs. Alexia Thainara
- Steven Asplund vs. Guilherme Pat
- Juliana Miller vs. Ravena Oliveira
