The long-awaited UFC journey of Bella Mir will begin in earnest this month when she attempts to secure an official contract with the organization at Dana White's Contender Series 89.
Mir, who is the daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, has been tabbed a super-prospect for MMA since she made her debut
in October 2020. She was 17 at the time, and since then has slowly built up combat sports experience.Now 23, Mir (4-0) will take on Alex Apodaca (3-1) in the featured women's bantamweight bout at DWCS 89 on Aug. 25 at Meta APEX in Las Vegas (Paramount+). The bout was announced Saturday (via Instagram):
Mir hasn't seen MMA action since July 2025, and it has been her only fight in the sport overall since June 2022. She has remained
active otherwise, though, competing under the UFC BJJ banner, wrestling at a collegiate level in Nevada and working on other elements of her game to become a complete fighter.
She will attempt to prove herself UFC-worthy against Apodaca, who has only seen the scorecards in her four pro fights so far.
