Asaf Chopurov can call himself a UFC fighter.
Just a few days ago, Chopurov (11-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) was on the outside looking in, as a fighter many considered to be one of the best unsigned bantamweights in the world. Now, he's through the door and is expected to make his promotional debut at UFC 333 on Oct. 24 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi against an opponent to be named later.
A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed Chopurov's signing to MMA Junkie after his name appeared on the promotion's website (h/t X user Pelunaton).
Chopurov, 24, is the UAE Warriors bantamweight champion and a main training partner of the UFC bantamweight champion. Not only does he have a perfect 11-0 record, but before he turned professional, he accumulated a staggering
34-1 amateur record. Ten of his 11 pro victories have come inside the distance.
