What is the story about?
Check out this week's "Spinning Back Clique," MMA Junkie's weekly live show that takes a spin through the biggest topics in mixed martial arts.
This week's panel of Mike Bohn, Nolan King and Dan Tom will join host "Gorgeous" George Garcia live at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) to discuss and debate the following topics:
- At UFC Edmonton, Mike Malott knocked out Joaquin Buckley in the welterweight main event while Jasmine Jasudavicius defeated Erin Blanchfield by unanimous decision in the women's flyweight co-headliner. We discuss the impact of those results on their respective divisions and what comes next for the winners and losers.
- At PFL Chicago, a new women's flyweight champion was crowned as Jena Bishop won a hard-fought unanimous decision over Liz Carmouche to claim the vacant title. We react to the result and look ahead to the prospective title-fight rematch with Dakota Ditcheva.
- One of the big headlines of the past week was Farid Basharat not being re-signed by the UFC after fighting out his contract. After going 7-0 with all decisions, the UFC decided to move on, making Basharat the latest fighter to find success in the octagon but not be brought back. We discuss what happened and what this means for the UFC's image moving forward.
- We finish the show with a lookahead at UFC 333 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi, where Alexander Volkanovski puts his featherweight title on the line against Movsar Evloev and Petr Yan defends the bantamweight title in a trilogy with Merab Dvalishvili.
