Raoni Barcelos is back on his feet.
In a scary sequence at UFC Fight Night 289, Barcelos (22-6 MMA, 11-5 UFC) fell unconscious during a takedown by opponent Raul Rosas Jr. during Round 5 of this past Saturday's main event at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Inside the cage, a commission doctor checked Barcelos' pulse before the 39-year-old was stretchered out and taken to a local trauma center.
After sharing an encouraging video update from the hospital where he was alert and speaking, Barcelos late Tuesday night posted that he's been discharged from the hospital as he posted a picture with his family on his Instagram story.
Barcelos was up on all three judges' scorecards before the scary incident. UFC CEO Dana White said the Brazilian was immediately
sent to a trauma center expressed gratitude that the situation wasn't worse than it could've been.
Still no word on exactly what caused Barcelos to become unconscious in the middle of the fight.
