LOS ANGELES – Iwo Baraniewski sees multiple paths to victory against Alonzo Menifield at UFC 331.
Baraniewski (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) has had the dream start to his octagon tenure with three straight first-round knockout wins. He will attempt to do it again Saturday at Crypto.com Arena when he takes on Menifield (18-6-1 MMA, 11-6-1 UFC) in a light heavyweight bout on the main card (Paramount+).
Although he would love to keep the momentum going in the same way, Baraniewski acknowledges this is the toughest test of his career so far.
"I know that he's a very dangerous striker," Baraniewski told MMA Junkie and other reporters at Wednesday's UFC 331 media day. "I know that he's an experienced fighter. But I'm ready for it. This is for me a good chance to climb
to the top 15."
Baraniewski, 27, will be ready for anything from Menifield when they step into the cage this weekend. Whether he has to move forward on be cautious, he's looking for another highlight.
"I think two options: Maybe he will rush on me, but I'm ready for it. But I think maybe he will be waiting for a counter," Baraniewski said. "We will see on Saturday. I'm ready for these two options. I have plans for these two options, so we will see. Maybe it will go like in my debut."
