Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone are set to compete against each other for a third time – but not in MMA.
The two former UFC lightweights have been booked for a freestyle wrestling match at RAF 15 on Nov. 28 in Chicago. The match will be contested at cruiserweight. RAF announced the news on Wednesday.
Pettis and Cerrone are just two of the many MMA fighters RAF has picked up for its crossover series, where they have MMA fighters compete against each other in freestyle wrestling. This will be both Pettis and Cerrone's debuts for RAF.
Pettis and Cerrone have competed twice before in the UFC. Pettis has won both fights, the first one being a knockout in 2013 and the second a unanimous decision in 2020.
Since his UFC departure in 2020, Pettis went
on to compete for the PFL, where he went 1-4, and has also fought twice in boxing – going 1-1 – and once in Karate Combat where he defeated Benson Henderson.
"Cowboy" hasn't competed since retiring from MMA in 2022 after a submission loss to Jim Miller.
