For the first time, Real American Freestyle will have an event on the big screen – as in movie screens.
RAF 14, which takes place Friday at Fountainbleu in Las Vegas, will be available to watch on 40 different movie screens in the AMC Theatres chain. The theaters chosen were picked for their proximity to wrestling-heavy markets.
RAF 14 is headlined by Arman Tsarukyan vs. Dillon Danis. In addition, Khamzat Chimaev meets UFC Hall of Famer Robbie Lawler. Its events stream on FOX Nation.
AMC is the world's largest theater chain. It has hosted dozens of live sporting events on its screens in the past, including UFC pay-per-views. But this will be its first foray into wrestling.
The major markets that will get the big-screen treatment include Chicago,
Indianapolis, Minneapolis, New York, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Tampa.
"Wrestling belongs on the biggest stages, and working with AMC Theatres allows us to bring RAF to fans in a new way," RAF CEO Chad Bronstein said in a news release. "Going to the movies is something families have enjoyed together for generations. We want kids, parents and wrestling fans across the country to come together in their hometowns, cheer on their favorite athletes and experience the excitement of live wrestling on the big screen. It's another important step in growing the sport and inspiring the next generation of wrestling fans."
Ticket prices are determined by market. A full list of participating theaters in the aforementioned markets can be found at AMC.
