Randy Brown vs. Jacobe Smith UFC Fight Night 292 preview
The co-main event features an impromptu welterweight fight between Randy Brown and Jacobe Smith. Brown, who was initially supposed to face Carlos Leal, will now meet a different stylistic threat in Smith on short notice.
With Kevin Holland seemingly escaping Smith for some time, the Oklahoma State University alum has been waiting a while for a name or ranked opponent, and he finally gets one this weekend.
Although I wouldn't be surprised to see Brown give Smith more than he's asking for in the form of counter punches and front chokes alike, I suspect that the Jamaican
fighter's wrestling deficiencies and propensity to fight close could cost him here.
It's not a confident pick, but I'll officially side with Smith to get takedowns early and often en route to forcing a stoppage on the floor in Round 2.
