Canelo Alvarez vs. Christian Mbilli is one just one day away, meaning the competitors had one final glance at one another Friday during the ceremonial faceoffs in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The two fighters remained respectful throughout, though they did not shake hands – only a mutual head-nod.
Alvarez (63-3-2) remains one of boxing's biggest draws, as he headlines Saturday's "Mexico vs. The World" themed event at Kindom Arena (DAZN). He aims to bounce back from a loss to Terence Crawford in September 2025.
France's Mbilli (29-0-1) enters the bout off the first non-win of his professional boxing career: a draw vs. Lester Martinez on the Canelo-Crawford undercard. Once the interim champion, Mbilli was elevated to full WBC championship status after
Crawford beat Alvarez and then retired. Now, Alvarez aims to reclaim the title he lost to Crawford against its new owner, Mbilli.
