Justin Gaethje is now open to running things back with Ilia Topuria.
Topuria (17-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) confirmed that he's beencleared to return after breaking both his orbital bones and nasal bone in a corner stoppage TKO loss to Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250 in June.
In his statement, Topuria accused Gaethje of glove manipulation, which "The Highlight" scoffed at.
"I'm just going to enjoy being the champ," Gaethje told Joe Andaloro. "People don't believe that. I've done that to everybody's face that I've fought."
UFC's play-by-play commentator Jon Anik claimed that there are internal talks in the UFC to have an immediate rematch between Gaethje and Topuria. UFC CEO Dana White said the sequel is one of the "great" options for Topuria next, alongside a grudge
match with Paddy Pimblett.
The champion was asked if he'd be willing after definitely ruling out a rematch in the past. And this time, his answer was different.
"We'll see, time will tell," Gaethje said. "Am I willing to? I just beat the sh*t out of him. Of course I would."
