Marcos Degli vs. Mitch Raposo UFC Fight Night 293 preview
Degli (15-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) makes his UFC debut following a contract-earning finish of Paris Moran on Dana White's Contender Series in September. He is currently on a 13-fight winning streak.
Raposo (11-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) will look to make it three straight wins following decisions over Azat Maksum and Allan Nascimento.
Marcos Degli vs. Mitch Raposo UFC Fight Night 293 expert pick, prediction
Kicking off the main card is a solid flyweight pairing between Mitch Raposo and Marcos Degli.
Raposo is a stiff test for a UFC debut, but Degli, who made my prospects to watch list last year, is a deceptively experienced fighter who looks more than ready
for this stage.
Even though the smaller octagon of the Apex should favor Degli's style on paper, the debutant can't afford to underestimate Raposo's boxing and counter wrestling abilities.
I'm not sure if Degli will be able to find the finish he's looking for opposite a tough out like Raposo, but I do suspect he scores enough solid strikes and back control time to take this on the scorecards (sans any Dan Margliotta-style referee incompetence, that is).
