Andre Petroski came through as an underdog with a surprise stoppage of Mantas Kondratavicius.
The middleweight fight took place on the prelims of UFC Fight Night 293 at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Despite oddsmakers seeing Kondratavicius (9-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) as the favorite to win, Petroski (14-6 MMA, 9-5 UFC) weathered an early storm to score a stoppage at 4:39 of Round 2.
The first round was rough at times for Petroski. Kondratavicius was picking his shots well, landing damaging combinations. However, Petroski and his team felt that the first round would be the Lithuania-born fighter's best round, and sure enough, it was. Petroski was able to get the fight to the ground in Round 2, and once he did, he kept it there. After patiently securing position,
Petroski unloaded ground-and-pound until the referee saw enough.
