LOS ANGELES – The road to UFC 333 is underway and the headlining title fights got a first chance to size each other up on Friday.
After taking questions from the media, the featherweight headliner of the Oct. 24 card at Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi (Paramount+), of Alexander Volkanovski vs. Movsar Evloev, as well as the bantamweight title co-main event of Petr Yan vs. Merab Dvalishvili
, had faceoffs.Volkanovski (28-4 MMA, 15-3 UFC) will attempt to secure the second title defense of his second reign at 145 pounds against unbeaten contenders Evloev (20-0 MMA, 10-0 UFC), who challenges for the belt for the first time. Yan (20-5 MMA, 12-4 UFC) and Dvalishvili (21-3 MMA, 14-3 UFC) are much more familiar, because UFC 333 will mark a rubber
match between them after each man claimed a previous win over the other.
