To say Eddie Hearn is upset by Dana White's name being included in the Netflix press release about the Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua superfight would be a huge understatement.
"The f*ckery involved in this fight," Hearn said in an interview with IFL TV. "There's loads of battles to come on that, because that ain't happening."
Those words came shortly after Fury vs. Joshua was announced Thursday as being set to headline a Dec. 11 boxing event that takes place at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, and streams on Netflix. The fight finally became official after months of public feuding between Matchroom's Hearn and UFC/Zuffa Boxing's White about where it would take place, with Hearn insisting on the U.K. while White pushed for New York's Madison
Square Garden – and White's involvement.
The Netflix press release stated Fury vs. Joshua will be a co-promotion between Turki Alalshikh's The Ring and White. It did not mention Hearn or Matchroom, who represent Joshua, or Frank Warren or Queensberry, who represent Fury.
Despite White's name appearing in the Netflix press release as a promoter, Hearn attempted to set the record straight Thursday by going scorched earth on the UFC boss.
“Dana White cannot be involved in this fight," Hearn said. "Netflix clearly didn’t get the memo. You see, no one talks to each other. So I speak to Sela and Turki, 'No, Dana White is not involved in the fight, you've got a contract that says that, he won't be at the presser, blah, blah, blah.' And then Netflix says the fight's in conjunction with Dana White. So now we have to go through that process. We stand by our contract, and he cannot be involved. When I saw the press release, I just couldn't stop pissing myself. You really got them to include your name in the press (release), you silly, sloppy tit. It's just so petty. You've lost, mate. You've lost. You did everything you could to bring the fight to America and rob the British fight fans of the fight. Give it up, son. ...
"You came in and was like, 'Yeah, we'll just take this fight, the biggest fight in the history of British boxing, one of the biggest sporting events in the history of Britain, and we'll just put it in Madison Square Garden.' Well guess what, motherf*cker: That didn't happen. And now you want to put yourself in a press release so you can say, 'I told you I was the promoter.' No, you sat there and said, ' I know where it is.' Well you didn't, did you? Because you said it was at Madison Square Garden. And I'll be speaking to Netflix just to remind them of their contractual obligations, and it'll be dealt with. What you can't do is weasel yourself into a press conference after you’ve been royally mugged off, pants down, bent over, butt cheeks spanked. We won the race, the fight is happening in the U.K., and on we go."
Fury vs. Joshua, a heavyweight showdown years in the making, will likely go down as the biggest fight of the year. The Brits are scheduled to appear at a press conference next Wednesday in London.
Does Dana White 'look like a f*cking idiot' after all?
In various press conference settings and interviews, White had spoken confidently (perhaps even arrogantly) about Fury vs. Joshua taking place at Madison Square Garden.
One such instance occurred in June during a Zuffa Boxing press conference in which White declared he knew where the fight was happening, but remained mum, while dismissing Hearn's involvement. The video resurfaced Thursday on social media.

"I know where the fight is." White said back in June. "... Do you think that I would publicly lie and then look like a f*cking idiot in front of everybody? Do you believe that I would? What would be the point of that?"
Ultimately the fight landed in the U.K., not New York.
