Raul Rosas Jr. has shown his ground game can be a real threat at the UFC level, and he really solidified that threat when he faced The Ultimate Fighter winner 29, Ricky Turcios.
The two met in June 2024 at UFC on ESPN 57. There was a big age and experience gap between the two, but that didn't matter for "El Niño Problema." Rosas Jr. fended off Turcios' attacks on the ground to open up opportunities for himself and tap Turcios with a rear-naked choke. Rosas Jr. won a Performance of the Night bonus for his submission victory.

Rosas Jr. (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) returns to the octagon this Saturday in the main event of UFC Fight Night 289 (Paramount+) at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
He takes on veteran Raoni Barcelos (22-5 MMA, 11-4 UFC) in a key contender bout at 135 pounds
