Choi (17-4-1 MMA, 6-3-1 UFC) brings a three-fight winning streak into his second fight of 2026. In his first appearance in May, "The Korean Superboy" finished Daniel Santos in the second round. That bout earned the Fight of the Night award.
Freire (37-9 MMA, 1-2 UFC) will look to get back to .500 in the UFC after dropping a unanimous decision against Aaron Pico in April. The fight prior was Freire's lone UFC victory, which came by decision over Dan Ige last July.

Filling out the main card for UFC 331 is a fun action fight between Patricio Freire and Doo Ho Choi.
Freire, who at one point found himself deservedly on some pound-for-pound lists, might've gotten to the big show a little too late.
Although Freire is still a powerful counterpuncher with an underrated ability to wrestle, I'm not sure I can count on him to reliably impose his game or generate enough output to consistently win rounds at this stage of his career.
Choi, on the other hand, seems to have finally matured into the fighter many of us hoped for years ago. I expect this fight to go long due to both combatants' propensity to counter, but see Choi getting the nod for his activity and lead-hand savvy.
The official pick is Choi by unanimous decision.
