The UFC has added an important fight to its calendar in the middleweight division.
Top contenders Brendan Allen and Christian Leroy Duncan have been booked to headline UFC Fight Night 290 (Paramount+) on Oct. 10 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas. The promotion announced the matchup Tuesday.
Allen (27-7 MMA, 15-4 UFC), No. 4 in the Meta UFC rankings, is currently on a three-fight winning streak since suffering back-to-back defeats to Nassourdine Imavov and Anthony Hernandez. Allen has had a resurgence in the division, beating Marvin Vettori, Reinier de Ridder, and most recently Edmen Shahbazyan. This will be Allen's fourth UFC main event since joining the company in 2019.
No. 10 Duncan (15-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) has proven to be a serious threat at middleweight
during his latest 5-0 run, which includes a spinning elbow and a spinning backfist KO that each earned him Performance of the Night bonuses. In his most recent outing in July, Duncan defeated former UFC title challenger Jared Cannonier by unanimous decision.
