Sean O'Malley sees the UFC 332 co-main event as a changing of the guard.
Former UFC champion Deiveson Figueiredo (25-7-1 MMA, 14-7-1 UFC) takes on Payton Talbott (11-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) on Oct. 3 (Paramount+) at Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Figueiredo has lost four of his past five, whereas Talbott is coming off his biggest-career win over Henry Cejudo at UFC 323.
"Figueiredo-Talbott, that's actually a fun fight," O'Malley said on his YouTube channel. "Payton Talbott has got some serious potential to rise in the rankings and be one of these guys. For whatever it is, people kind of want to tune in to watch his fights. He's fun. He put on a beautiful performance against Henry. It's been a while, but he looked good. He beat the f*ck out of Henry."
According to FanDuel, Talbott is a -650 favorite over Figueiredo, who's a +440 underdog. Former UFC bantamweight champion O'Malley thinks 38-year-old Figueiredo doesn't have much fight left in him and is siding with Talbott.
"Figueiredo, is he on a two-fight losing streak? Because he lost to Song, and he lost to Umar," O'Malley continued. "Every time I watch Deiveson Figueiredo, I never know. I'm like, does he look like he really wants to be in there? I don't know. He's still dangerous but not for long."
