PHILADELPHIA – Charles Johnson met the media Saturday after his win over Eduardo Chapolin at UFC 330.
Johnson (20-9 MMA, 9-7 UFC) submitted Chapolin (15-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) with an ultra-rare Scottish twister on the prelims at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. It was just the fifth twister finish in UFC history.
Johnson said his win over Chapolin, who took the fight on just a few days’ notice, owes an assist to former Bellator bantamweight champion Patchy Mix.

“I hit that like once or twice a week during practice. I've hit it on Lucas Alexander. I've hit it on different practice teammates,” Johnson said at his post-fight
news conference. “It's something that I’ve worked on. Patchy Mix actually showed me that move. I'm going to give him his flowers. He showed me that move about a year and a half ago (when) I was in Vegas training."
“… I finish that in practice a lot. I get there a lot offensively if I get the back. … I’ve just remained constant getting into those positions and figuring them out with Mike Davis walking me through it."
