LAS VEGAS – Dana White had plenty of praise for everything about Salahdine Parnasse's UFC debut.
While the UFC boss wasn't in Paris, France, for UFC Fight Night 287, where Parnasse (24-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) sparked Dan Hooker (24-15 MMA, 14-11 UFC) in the opening round to win his debut, White was available to the media following DWCS 91, where he gave his thoughts on what transpired at Accor Arena.
"Incredible," White told MMA Junkie and other reporters during a post-fight news conference about Parnasse's debut. "He was the third-biggest debut on social media that we've ever had. Right behind Paddy Pimblett and (Raul) Rosas Jr."
Parnasse's debut was special for several reasons. Not only was his debut in his home country, but it was also in the main event
of a UFC card, which is an incredibly rare feat in itself. Parnasse checked all the boxes with his performance, meeting the moment head-on, and set the stage for what's to come by aiming high with his post-fight call-out.
"I want to fight Max Holloway because he's a legend," Parnasse told UFC News after the fight. "This is not trash talking, this is just a dream that I've had for a long time, and out of respect, I really want to face a legend like Max."
White loved the bold call-out of the former featherweight champion and BMF, which could bode well for Parnasse's desire to face elite lightweight competition right away. Time will tell if Holloway is next for Parnasse, as "Blessed," who picked up a TKO win over Conor McGregor at UFC 329, always seems to have plenty of good options available.
"The crowd was incredible, the fight was great, and calling out Max Holloway is pretty crazy," White said. "... The fact that that guy wants to fight Max Holloway right now is impressive. I like it."
