Henry Cejudo will finally get his hands on Song Yadong again.
The rematch Cejudo recently told MMA Junkie he wanted will take place in the main event of RAF 15, which goes down Nov. 28 at NOW Arena in Chicago. The freestyle wrestling promotion officially announced the matchup Wednesday evening.
Their first meeting was in the main event of UFC Fight Night 252. However, that fight ended prematurely due to an eye poke, which resulted in Song taking a technical decision after Cejudo was unable to continue beyond Round 3. Now, Song will meet Cejudo in his world, on the wrestling mats, giving the Olympic gold medalist a chance to even the score.
After their first meeting, Cejudo, a former two-division UFC champion, only competed once more in the promotion
in a losing effort against rising star Payton Talbott. He has since been active on the RAF mats, competing against fellow UFC stars Urijah Faber and Merab Dvalishvili. In his most recent outing, which was a second match against Dvalishvili, Cejudo won the RAF lightweight crossover championship, which will be on the line against Song.
A winner of back-to-back UFC main events against Deiveson Figueiredo and Umar Nurmagomedov, Song will make his RAF debut in a main event, topping a card filled with multiple familiar names from the MMA world, including Donald Cerrone, Anthony Pettis, Raul Rosas Jr. and Cody Garbrandt, among others.
With the addition, the RAF 15 lineup includes:
- Henry Cejudo vs. Song Yadong – for lightweight crossover title
- Donald Cerrone vs. Anthony Pettis
- Cayden Henschel vs. Conor Beebe – for featherweight crossover title
- Clay Guida vs. Raul Rosas Jr.
- Roman Bravo-Young vs. Matt Ramos
- Haley Augello vs. Miranda Maverick
- Danny Sabatello vs. Jacob Schultz
- Cody Garbrandt vs. Sergio Pettis
