Jose Delgado has no regrets after a valiant effort against Jean Silva at UFC Fight Night 288.
Delgado (12-3 MMA, 4-2 UFC) dropped Silva (18-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) in Round 1 of their Noche UFC main event this past Saturday at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Ariz., but Silva rallied to submit him in Round 3.
Delgado, who took the opportunity on short notice after Silva's original opponent Yair Rodriguez withdrew, took to Instagram to speak on the loss.
"Well sh*t so it goes. Dared to be great yesterday and came up short. But man I loved every second of being on that stage with high level opposition, that includes the heartbreaking pain of failure. Pure freedom. Insert something cliche about bouncing back here. Thank you to God for His guidance and my
village for backing me. Also thanks to everyone in that arena for making that walk what it was. Love yall🤎."
Delgado has now split his past four UFC appearances. Prior to the Silva setback, he scored back-to-back wins over Andre Fili in March and Austin Bashi in July.
