For the second time, the women's bantamweight title super fight between Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes is scheduled as a co-main event. And for the second time, there's outrage about it.
The criticism from former two-division champion Alex Pereira of the UFC 334 bout order might be rooted in something a little more personal, though.
With a heavyweight championship fight between Ciryl Gane and Josh Hokit set to headline the No. 14 card at Madison Square Garden in New York (Paramount+), top contender Pereira opted to take a shot at the matchup on social media, stating it was unworthy to be billed over Harrison (19-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) vs. Nunes (23-5 MMA, 16-2 UFC) on his Instagram Stories.
"Why the Women's Fight is Not the Main Event?" Pereira wrote.
"Okay let me help promote this cause not one is payin attention to it..."

Pereira (13-4 MMA, 10-3 UFC), who suffered a second-round TKO loss to Gane (14-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC) at the White House in June and is currently booked to face Sergei Pavlovich in the UFC 335 co-main event on Dec. 12 in Las Vegas, was initially campaigning for a title shot in "The Big Apple."
The UFC opted to go in another direction with Hokit as the challenger, however, so Pereira's post could also be perceived as sour grapes – and soon after, the selected challenger chimed in to respond.
"My name Dum Dum. You bring me Gum Gum?" lol," Hokit wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "I didn't realize that losing your aura, affected your IQ. You aren't even BMF worthy. They prefer a little crotch sniffer over a Auraless Sorceress. Hopefully Sergei doesn't end you like he did your brazillian punching bag, teammate."
