Payton Talbott and Farid Basharat got into it on social media.
Just a few weeks ago, Basharat (16-0) took a shot at Talbott (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) following his TKO win over Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 332. Basharat was not impressed, saying that Talbott had "easy layups" fighting aging veterans in Figueiredo and Henry Cejudo.
Well, Talbott took a while to reply, and he finally did so shortly after Basharat announced his surprising UFC release.
Below, you can find their back and forth online:

I didn’t have the luxury of fighting three 40 years olds.

You sure kept quiet this whole time. Funny how u start
talking once I’m off the roster. I can’t take anyone that’s been 30-26 by a 40 year old serious. Keep your mouth shut boy.

Basharat announced on Thursday that he was no longer with the UFC. The news shocked many, as Basharat was 7-0 in the promotion and 16-0 overall in his professional MMA career. He is considered a top bantamweight fighter with big potential. Many have attributed Basharat's release to his lack of finishes, having won six of his seven bouts in the UFC by decision.
Talbott, on the other hand, has had a very different run in the UFC. He's been given plenty of good opportunities with both high spots on UFC cards and high-profile opponents. Talbott is coming off back-to-back wins over two former champions, Cejudo and Figueiredo, and recently called out another in Sean O'Malley.
