Dana White's Contender Series may have just filled its last vacancy of the season.
UFC contract hopefuls Jason Asher and Greg Foster will collide in a three-round lightweight bout on the upcoming Oct. 13 (Week 10) card at Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Asher (5-0) has finished all of his professional bouts with strikes. His longest pro bout was just more than 6 minutes. He mostly recently competed at Fury FC 124 in July when he finished Cameron Graves (14-10) by first-round TKO.
Foster (8-1) belongs to The MMA Lab in Phoenix and has competed for various regional promotions, including Fury
FC, BORROKA, RUF MMA, and Freedom Fight Night. He has five finishes in eight pro victories.
Typically, DWCS cards consist of five bouts. However, it's unclear if Oct. 13 event will feature six, because the Week 8 bout between Ilias Bulaid and Erick Visconde was rescheduled last-second due to an illness.
The DWCS 96 fight card includes:
- Davi Cabral vs. Douglas da Lapa
- Luis Francischinelli vs. Will Rentz
- Aline Pereira vs. Smilla Sundell
- Ilias Bulaid vs. Erick Visconde
- Jason Asher vs. Greg Foster
