Cody Durden vs. Ode Osbourne UFC Fight Night 292 preview
Durden (18-11-1 MMA, 7-9-1 UFC) enters his fourth fight of the year, aiming to rebound from a submission loss to Alessandro Costa in July. His year began with a decision loss to Nyamjargal Tumendemberel in March, followed by a decision win over Jafel Filho in April.
Osbourne (13-9 MMA, 5-7 UFC) hunts for his first win since April 2025, where he stopped Luis Gurule in the second round. Since then, he lost a decision to Steve Erceg and saw a result against Alibi Idiris overturned to a no contest.
Cody Durden vs. Ode Osbourne UFC Fight Night 292 expert pick, prediction
Serving as a solid men's flyweight fight on the main card is a rebooked battle
between Ode Osbourne and Cody Durden.
These two were originally set to fight back in July, but Osbourne had to withdraw due to an undisclosed injury.
Despite initially leaning toward Durden due to his grappling edge inside the smaller octagon, I believe that this is a trickier matchup than meets the eye.
Although Osbourne has a negative record in the UFC, the Jamaican carries a winning record when competing inside the Apex. Durden, on the other hand, basically has a .500 record when competing in the smaller cage (and the same goes for his record against southpaws).
In fact, Durden has shown to struggle with southpaw striking lanes and counters in the couple of open-stance affairs he's had in the octagon, making the steadily improving Osbourne a real threat anytime they're standing.
Durden dogging out a submission wouldn't shock me, but I'll officially pick Osbourne to spark off a stoppage via strikes in Round 2.
