Due to the ongoing complications of tendonitis in his knee, Green Bay Packers left guard Aaron Banks is expecting to be a game-time decision for Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Banks, who missed time throughout training camp while managing the injury, has practiced in a limited capacity during each of the last two days, but he wasn't sure he'd be available to practice on Friday, per Bill Huber of Packers on SI, and he'll likely be listed as questionable on the final injury report.
“I don’t know. It’ll probably be a game-time decision,” Banks told Huber after practice on Thursday.
Banks is one of three Packers starting offensive linemen dealing with injuries ahead of Week 1, but left tackle Jordan Morgan was upgraded to a full participant
on Thursday, and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele recently expressed confidence that he'd be on the field come Sunday. So, Banks appears to be the one mystery ahead of Sunday's showdown with the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium.
The Packers list Donovan Jennings as the backup at left guard, but rookie Jager Burton is also a likely candidate to start if Banks can't play on Sunday.
Banks played in 15 games last season, but he dealt with numerous injuries, especially early in the season. He ended up playing 747 total snaps.
Matt LaFleur's team will practice again Friday before issuing a final injury report -- with official status designations -- on Friday afternoon. Inactives are due 90 minutes prior to kickoff on Sunday, or around 1:55 p.m. CT.
