Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur provided updates on several injured players coming out of Sunday's win over the Chicago Bears, including information on Micah Parsons, Javon Hargrave, Skyy Moore, Savion Williams and Jordon Riley
Some injury updates from LaFleur on Monday:
On edge rusher Micah Parsons: "As soon as they give us the green light, he'll be out there. That hasn't happened yet, but I think we're getting closer." Parsons, who has missed the first five games while on the PUP list, will not begin practicing this week, meaning his return is still a few weeks away.
More on Parsons: "First of all, you have to get him back on the practice field. There's a lot of testing that goes on before he gets medically cleared to get out there. Then
I'm sure we're going to want to give him some time to get back to playing football." LaFleur called Parsons a "freak of nature" and said the Packers want to make sure he's well-balanced strength-wise in both legs.
On defensive lineman Javon Hargrave: "It was unfortunate. It took a lot of wind out of my sails last night. When you have a devastating injury like that, to anybody, let alone to a guy that has come in here and done things the right way, been a real asset to our football team." Hargrave tore his Achilles tendon and will miss the season.
On defensive lineman Jordon Riley: "He's pretty close." Riley is on the PUP list while recovering from last season's Achilles tendon injury.
On defensive lineman Anthony Campbell: "Hopefully we'll get (him) rolling this week." Campbell has missed back-to-back games with an ankle injury but the Packers will likely need him this week with Hargrave out.
On receiver Savion Williams: "He's definitely getting closer. I'm hopeful we'll get him there, but we'll work him through the week and see where he's at." Williams opened his 21-day practice window while on injured reserve last Wednesday. He could be the Skyy Moore replacement in Week 6.
On returner/receiver Skyy Moore: "In the short term, I would say, there's a little bit of concern, but nothing long term." Moore hurt his ankle in the first half on Sunday and didn't return. Reading between the lines, it sounds like Moore will miss a game or two.
On guard Kevin Zeitler: "He could have played if we needed him." The Packers are still ramping him up, and Travis Glover is playing well enough at right guard.
