Can the Green Bay Packers beat the odds and the experts and take down the visiting Chicago Bears on Sunday? Not only are the Packers home underdogs, but the majority of expert pickers are taking the Bears to beat the Packers in Week 5.
Of the 55 experts typically reviewed in this space every week, only 14 picked the Packers to win on Sunday, or roughly 25 percent. Three out of every four pickers are taking the Bears to win straight up on the road at Lambeau Field.
While the Bears will be starting a backup quarterback, the Packers look nothing if not unreliable to start 2026, and last week's narrow win over the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers did little to convert new believers. The Bears, meanwhile, have won back-to-back games by at least two scores
without Caleb Williams under center. Needless to say, the Packers have a big challenge awaiting on Sunday. But the experts have been and are often wrong, and the Packers will get 60 minutes of ball to prove they are being underappreciated.

NFL.com
Of the five experts at NFL.com, only two picked the Packers.
- Jeremy Bergman: Bears, 26-24
- Brooke Cersosimo: Packers, 24-23
- Gennaro Filice: Packers, 25-22
- Bobby Kownack: Bears, 28-18
- Dan Parr: Bears, 27-21
From Parr: "I need to see a defense slow down Ben Johnson’s running game before I pick against the Bears. The sample size is still small in 2026, but Chicago’s 196.3 rush yards per game are the second-most by any team in the last 40 seasons (2019 Ravens: 206.0), per NFL Research. The Packers rank 28th against the run and they just lost one of their best players, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, to a season-ending Achilles tear. The contrast here is stark. Green Bay averages 58 rush yards per game, the fewest in the league. It seems well within the realm of possibility that the Bears absolutely dominate in time of possession for the third straight week. If Caleb Williams fill-in Tyson Bagent is mistake-prone in his second start of the year, the Cheeseheads could feast. He’s going to see his share of pressures -- the Packers blitz at the eighth-highest rate in the league (39.3%) -- but I’m expecting the ground game to provide him another relatively stress-free day."

- Ryan Wilson: Bears
- John Breech: Bears
- Tyler Sullivan: Bears
- Dave Richard: Bears
- Jamey Eisenberg: Bears
From Prisco: "These two don't like each other. The Bears have been great running the ball, but this could be the game where playing without Caleb Williams shows up. Look for Jordan Love to have a big day throwing it on the other side — finally. The Packers win it in an upset. Packers 27, Bears 24."
