His return to the game field might be weeks away, but the long-awaited return to practice is expected to arrive for Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons on Wednesday.
Coach Matt LaFleur said it was the team's "intention" for Parsons to practice this week, while ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that Parsons is "slated to practice" on Wednesday, the team's first official on-field work ahead of Sunday's showdown with the New England Patriots. Parsons won't play Sunday, but the return-to-play process is finally about to start.
Parsons tore his ACL and meniscus in Denver on Dec. 14 of last year. He had surgery to repair both injuries on Dec. 29, missed all of the offseason and spent the first eight weeks of the regular season on the PUP
list. If he practices on Wednesday, he will open a 21-day practice window, and LaFleur said he expects Parsons will need most of the 21 days before he's ready to play in a game.
Packers Wire will be tracking all the updates on Parsons' return to the practice field on Wednesday:

LaFleur on Monday
On Parsons practicing this week: "That would be the intention. Again, it's going to be a process trying to get him back, but we're hopeful. It's going to be dependent upon the next couple days, but we're hopeful he'll be able to get out there sometime this week."
On when Parsons will return during his 21-day window: "If I had a bet on it, it's going to be more towards the longer end than the shorter end."
