Thursday's injury report update brought good news for the offensive line of the Green Bay Packers: starting left tackle Jordan Morgan was upgraded from a limited participant on Wednesday to a full participant on Thursday, suggesting Morgan is on track to play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings in the season opener.
Morgan was a surprise name on the injury report on Wednesday, and coach Matt LaFleur said before Thursday's practice that Morgan's knee injury is something he's been dealing with and is not a new injury.
"There's always concern when there's a guy on the injury report, but as far as his availability, we're trying to build him up to get him in a spot where we feel like he's ready to go," LaFleur said Thursday.
It appears Morgan has advanced
to a spot where he can practice fully. The Packers will likely see how he responds on Friday before giving him the thumbs up to play on Sunday.
Elsewhere on the offensive line, left guard Aaron Banks and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele both practiced again but were limited on Thursday.
According to Bill Huber of Packers on SI, Banks is expected to be a game-time decision on Sunday. He's been managing lingering issues with his knee throughout training camp. If healthy enough to play, LaFleur said Banks would be the starter at left guard.
The two DNPs remained the same: defensive tackle Warren Brinson (calf) and linebacker Ty'Ron Hopper (Achilles) both didn't practice again on Thursday. They will need to practice in some capacity on Friday to have a legitimate shot at playing against the Vikings.
The final injury report arrives for the Packers on Friday afternoon.
