The Green Bay Packers lost their top two centers to injuries on the opening drive of Sunday's showdown with the Detroit Lions.
Starting center Sean Rhyan went down early in the drive after running back Josh Jacobs fell into the back of his legs at the end of a run. The Packers say he is questionable to return with an ankle injury.
While Jacob Monk replaced Rhyan mid-drive, it was second-year offensive lineman John Williams in at center to start the offense's second drive because Monk injured his quad and is questionable to return. Both Rhyan and Monk were seen trying to work through the injuries on the TV broadcast.
Williams, a seventh-round pick in the 2025 draft, had never played a regular season snap on offense before entering the game on Sunday.
Unphased, the Packers drove the field for a game-tying touchdown with Williams in at center. Jordan Love hit Tucker Kraft for a touchdown on an extended play.
The Packers have only eight active offensive linemen and could be down to just six if Rhyan and Monk can't go the rest of the way. The only healthy backup is Aaron Banks.
