Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden and cornerback Keisean Nixon are both ACTIVE for "Thursday Night Football" against the Carolina Panthers.
While Golden (foot/shoulder) and Nixon (shoulder) were listed as questionable to play, both are healthy enough to suit up and play in primetime from Lambeau Field. Golden enters Week 8 ranked ninth among all players in receiving yards, while Nixon is 11th in EPA allowed in coverage this season.
The Packers will also have defensive linemen Devonte Wyatt and Anthony Campbell and edge rusher Brenton Cox Jr. available on Thursday night. All four of the players listed as questionable by the Packers are active for Week 8. As a result, Matt LaFleur's team has three healthy scratches, including one surprise:
veteran tight end Jonnu Smith. Running back Kaleb Johnson and guard Donovan Jennings are also healthy scratches.
The Packers ruled out starters Zaire Franklin, Sean Rhyan and Travis Glover on the final injury report released Wednesday. Isaiah McDuffie and Ty'Ron Hopper will start at linebacker, but the Packers have options at center and right guard. John Williams is the assumed starter at center, given he finished Sunday's loss to the Detroit Lions at the position, and veterans Kevin Zeitler and Mekhi Becton are both active and available to play right guard.
The Packers inactives against the Panthers:
- TE Jonnu Smith
- RB Kaleb Johnson
- LB Zaire Franklin
- G Donovan Jennings
- C Sean Rhyan
- G Travis Glover
Among the inactives for the Panthers is former Packers running back A.J. Dillon, who is a healthy scratch.
