The Green Bay Packers are bringing back kicker Lenny Krieg -- who was with the team to start training camp -- as the international exemption player on the practice squad, per Bill Huber of Packers on SI.
Krieg, a native of Berlin, Germany, spent three days with the Packers to start camp. He was released when the Packers needed to add veteran long snapper Cal Adomitis to the roster with Matt Orzech on the PUP list.
Now, Krieg is back -- providing a backup kicking option on the practice squad and allowing the Packers to carry the maximum 17 players on the practice squad. Each team is allowed an exemption for an international player on the practice squad, allowing for the pro development of players from outside the United States.
Krieg spent the 2025
season on the practice squad of the Atlanta Falcons. He was with the New York Jets between January and June of this year. Per Huber, Krieg has trained with former Falcons Younghoe Koo while waiting for his next opportunity.
Krieg, 24, has never kicked in a regular season game, but he did kick for the Falcons during the preseason last August.
Krieg is replacing tight end Thomas Yassmin -- who was waived injured at final cuts -- as the team's international player. The Packers still have two more slots on the practice squad to fill.
