The Green Bay Packers suffered another major injury blow to end Sunday's 31-7 win over the Chicago Bears. Veteran defensive lineman Javon Hargrave was carted off the field late in the fourth quarter, and coach Matt LaFleur said the injury "doesn't look good" and the team believes Hargrave suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon injury.
"Early indications look like Achilles," LaFleur said after the game Sunday.
Hargrave went down without contact while pressuring quarterback Case Keenum in the fourth quarter.
LaFleur said the end of the game was "bittersweet" given Hargrave's injury in a game that the Packers led by 24 points.
Hargrave was signed to a two-year deal in free agency. The Packers have Devonte Wyatt, Karl Brooks, rookie Chris McClellan,
Jonathan Ford and Anthony Campbell on the roster at defensive tackle, but Campbell is battling an ankle injury and now Hargrave will likely miss the rest of the season. Warren Brinson is currently on injured reserve with a groin injury.
This would mark the second season-ending Achilles tendon injury in as many weeks for the Packers. Linebacker Edgerrin Cooper tore his Achilles tendon last week in Tampa Bay and will miss the rest of the season.
If Hargrave does have season-ending injury, he will join Cooper, receiver Jayden Reed and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele on season-ending injured reserve.
