Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur provided a positive update on receiver Jayden Reed, who suffered a neck injury and had to be carted off the field at MetLife Stadium on the second play of Sunday's win over the New York Jets.
"An update on J-Reed, he's got movement in all his extremities. He will be staying overnight," LaFleur said post-game. "That was a very scary deal, seeing anybody down on the field and having to get carted off.
Reed got hit in the helmet with his head down after catching a pass on second down. He crumbled to the turf following the hit, and trainers on the field eventually secured Reed to a backboard before carting him off the field.
The Packers immediately ruled out Reed with a neck injury.
One play later, right tackle Zach
Bako-Bewele suffered a knee injury and had to be carted off with a cast protecting his right leg. LaFleur did not sound optimistic about Bako-Bewele's injury timeline.
"That doesn't look good either, as far as, he could be out for a long time," LaFleur said.
While shorthanded on offense, the Packers overcame a 17-7 deficit in the fourth quarter and beat the Jets in overtime.
