The one-year deal signed by veteran right guard Kevin Zeitler with the Green Bay Packers will pay $4 million as a base total and up to $5 million overall in 2026, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The minimum base salary for a player with Zeitler's experience is $1,300,000. The rest of the contract is likely a signing bonus and per-game roster bonuses, plus incentives that can push the total value to $5 million. This post will update when more contract details become available.
As expected, the money strongly suggests that the Packers believe Zeitler will become an immediate starter, even if he's not ready to start come Sunday in Tampa. The former Wisconsin Badger has played over 14,000 career snaps at right guard and could provide a massive upgrade
for the Packers over previous starter Jacob Monk.
Last season, Zeitler played on a one-year, $9 million deal with the Tennessee Titans. In 2024, he was with the Detroit Lions on a one-year, $6 million deal.
Zeitler, a 2012 first-round pick, has made over $100 million in his NFL career, per Over the Cap. He turned 34 in March.
