The Green Bay Packers listed edge rusher Lukas Van Ness, left guard Aaron Banks, right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele and cornerback Benjamin St-Juste as questionable and defensive lineman Javon Hargrave as doubtful to play and ruled out defensive lineman Warren Brinson on the final injury report before facing the New York Jets in Week 2 of the 2026 season.
How will the injury situation affect Sunday's showdown with the Jets?
Here’s an in-depth breakdown of the Packers’ final injury report ahead of Week 2:
QUESTIONABLE (4)
EDGE Lukas Van Ness (concussion): He practiced all three days this week, but LVN will need to clear concussion protocol in order to play Sunday. There's no guarantee he'll be cleared in time, so it's possible the Packers will need to elevate rookie
Nyjalik Kelly or veteran Arron Mosby from the practice squad. Brenton Cox Jr. would be a likely starter if LVN can't go. Rookie Dani Dennis-Sutton would also get more snaps if Van Ness isn't available.
LG Aaron Banks (knee): Will he return? Like last week, Banks practiced in a limited capacity during all three days this week. But the Packers need to make sure he's feeling up to the task come Sunday, so expect another game-time decision. If Banks can't go, Donovan Jennings or rookie Jager Burton are the likely starting options at left guard.
RT Zach Bako-Bewele (knee): Whether or not he plays is probably not the big question: Will ZBB be closer to 100 percent in Week 2? He tired down the stretch and clearly wasn't 100 percent for every snap in the opener. Anthony Belton is the backup if there's some kind of setback.
CB Benjamin St-Juste (hamstring): The unfortunate late-in-the-week injury for St-Juste, who was added Friday with a hamstring injury. He will likely be hard pressed to recover from a soft tissue injury in time to play Sunday. St-Juste is a backup corner but also an important coverage player on special teams. Rookie Domani Jackson is an option on the practice squad is depth is an issue.
DOUBTFUL (1)
DL Javon Hargrave (concussion): The veteran didn't practice on Thursday or Friday, making it unlikely that he clears concussion protocol in time to play. Hargrave played 30 snaps in the opener, including 20 as a pass-rusher. Expect Karl Brooks to be a starter with Devonte Wyatt again, and Hargrave's expected absence could mean Anthony Campbell is active for the first time.
OUT (1)
DL Warren Brinson (calf): The second-year defensive lineman will miss his second straight game with a calf injury originally suffered on Aug. 21 in Denver. His status, when combined with Hargrave's availability, makes it likely that Chris McClellan, Jonathan Ford and Anthony Campbell will all get snaps against the Jets.
NO STATUS DESIGNATION
The following players do not have a status designation on the final injury report and are good to go for Sunday: linebacker Ty'Ron Hopper, edge rusher Barryn Sorrell and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt. Hopper will return after missing Week 1.
JETS INJURY REPORT
The Jets ruled out starting safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, rookie receiver Omar Cooper Jr., edge rusher Joseph Ossai and returner Kene Nwangwu and listed edge rusher Will McDonald IV as questionable to play on the final injury report. Fitzpatrick is one of the defense's top players, Cooper had an explosive play in his NFL debut last week, Ossai was scheduled to be part of the edge rushing rotation and Nwangwu is an accomplished returner. McDonald is the one to watch, but coach Aaron Glenn said he'd be good to go.
