The Green Bay Packers are welcoming back running back Josh Jacobs and left guard Aaron Banks but won't have veteran guard Kevin Zeitler for Sunday's showdown with the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.
Jacobs is active after missing the first six games of the regular season while on the commissioner's exempt list. He will make his 2026 season debut on Sunday. Banks is back after missing four games with a toe injury suffered in Week 2.
Zeitler, however, is inactive, suggesting the Packers don't believe he is one of their top eight healthy offensive linemen entering Sunday. Zeitler, who was signed in late September, has not appeared for the Packers offense this season.
The Packers made the following six players inactive for Week 7:
- CB Benjamin St-Juste (hamstring injury)
- RB Kaleb Johnson
- LB Zaire Franklin (shin injury)
- OL Jager Burton
- OL Donovan Jennings
- OL Kevin Zeitler
St-Juste was questionable
to play; he'll miss his second straight game with a hamstring injury. Zaire Franklin was ruled out on the final injury report after injuring his shin in practice on Thursday. Johnson is a healthy scratch, so Jacobs, MarShawn Lloyd and Pierre Strong Jr. are the available running backs. The Packers had to make three of their 11 offensive linemen inactive, and Burton, Jennings and Zeitler were the inactive picks. Up is Banks, who was previously the preferred starter at left guard, and Laken Tomlinson, who started the last three games at left guard.
With Banks available, it's unclear how the Packers will situate their guards. It's possible Banks could play on the left side with Tomlinson on the right side.
Receiver Bo Melton (back) and defensive lineman Jordon Riley are both active despite questionable designations. Riley is returning for the first time since last season's Achilles tendon injury.
The Packers and Lions will kick off from Ford Field at 3:25 p.m. CT.
