The Green Bay Packers listed running backs Chris Brooks and MarShawn Lloyd and cornerback Keisean Nixon as questionable and ruled out edge rusher Micah Parsons, linebacker Zaire Franklin, center Sean Rhyan, right guard Travis Glover and tight end Josh Whyle on the final injury report before facing the New England Patriots in Week 9 of the 2026 season.
How will the injury situation affect Sunday's showdown with the Patriots?
Here’s an in-depth breakdown of the Packers’ final injury report ahead of Week 9:
QUESTIONABLE (3)
RB Chris Brooks (ankle): He is designated for return from injured reserve, allowing him to get in three days of practice this week. If MarShawn Lloyd can't go, the Packers could activate Brooks and play him Sunday. But as of Friday, he's not on
the 53-man roster.
RB MarShawn Lloyd (knee): He popped up on the injury report on Thursday but was able to practice again Friday in a limited capacity. Brooks is a replacement option, but the Packers have Josh Jacobs, Pierre Strong Jr. and Kaleb Johnson on the 53.
CB Keisean Nixon (groin): He returned to practice on Friday after missing Thursday's practice, and it's difficult to envision him missing Sunday's game considering he still hasn't missed a game in his Packers career. It's possible he'll be a game-time decision based on how his groin is feeling in pre-game warmups on Sunday.
OUT (5)
EDGE Micah Parsons (knee): He only just returned to practice on Wednesday, and his most optimistic return date is still Week 12 against the Rams. Because he opened his practice window, the Packers are required to officially rule him out.
LB Zaire Franklin (shin): Franklin will miss his third straight game. Normally, being down your two starting linebackers for three weeks would be a disaster, but Isaiah McDuffie and Ty'Ron Hopper have held down the fort admirably.
C Sean Rhyan (ankle): As expected, Rhyan will miss his second straight game with a high ankle sprain. He wasn't placed on IR, giving him a chance to be back for Week 12 against the Rams. John Williams has played in his absence the last two weeks.
RG Travis Glover (knee): A second straight game missed for Glover, who had been the starter at right guard. Who replaces him? Laken Tomlinson moved from left to right guard last week, but Kevin Zeitler and Mekhi Becton are also options.
TE Josh Whyle (concussion): The backup tight end will not clear concussion protocol in time to play Sunday. Tucker Kraft, Mark Redman and Jonnu Smith will be the active tight ends.
NO STATUS DESIGNATION
Guard Aaron Banks, slot corner Javon Bullard and receiver Christian Watson do not have a status designation and are expected to play Sunday. Bullard was off Friday because of a personal issue. Watson will play through a rib injury.
PATRIOTS FINAL INJURY REPORT
The Patriots ruled out wide receiver A.J. Brown (knee/ankle) and running back TreVeyon Henderson (illness) and listed tight end Hunter Henry, safety Kevin Byard III, cornerback Carlton Davis III, receiver Mack Hollins, offensive tackle Morgan Moses, safety Brenden Schooler and offensive lineman Greg Van Roten as questionable.
