Green Bay Packers starting cornerback Keisean Nixon did not practice on Wednesday due to a new groin injury.
Not only did Nixon miss practice, but backup Benjamin St-Juste, who exited Sunday's win over the Chicago Bears with a hamstring injury, also didn't practice on Wednesday.
Nixon and St-Juste were two of the five players unable to practice on Wednesday, joining receiver Skyy Moore and defensive linemen Javon Hargrave (who will eventually go to injured reserve) and Jonathan Ford.
The Packers will practice again on Thursday and Friday before releasing a final injury report -- with status designations -- on Friday afternoon.
The timing is troublesome, although there is never a great time to lose a starting cornerback to injury. Coming to Green
Bay for "Sunday Night Football" in Week 6 are CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, the dynamic receiver duo of the Dallas Cowboys. Lamb, who didn't play in last year's matchup, is coming off a quad injury, but he ranks third in the NFL with 507 receiving yards. Together, Lamb and Pickens -- who caught two touchdown passes in the 40-40 tie in Dallas last year -- have combined for 862 receiving yards through five games, only nine fewer yards than Christian Watson and Matthew Golden.
Nixon has been the Packers best cornerback in 2026. According to PFF, Nixon has allowed 21 catches on 29 targets for 197 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception over 189 coverage snaps through five games.
The currently healthy cornerbacks on the Packers roster are rookie Brandon Cisse, Javon Bullard, who operates out of the slot, Carrington Valentine, who was previously a starter, and Kamal Hadden, who primarily played in the slot during training camp.
Rookie sixth-round pick Domani Jackson is available on the practice squad.
