Highlighting the studs and duds from the Green Bay Packers' 23-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys:
Studs
QB Jordan Love: He was terrific against pressure, especially early and especially on third down. Love made a number of big-time throws, and pass-catchers let him down too many times. In reality, he should have finished with four touchdown passes and well over 300 passing yards. Love did throw a pick and nearly threw another one under pressure later, and his passer rating finished at 74.8, but the box score lies. The Packers quarterback was excellent. Three of his best throws -- a perfectly thrown over-the-shoulder ball to Matthew Golden, a back-shoulder ball to Golden in the end zone and the extended play laser beam to Christian Watson -- all fell incomplete.
Third-down completions to Watson (first drive) and Golden (fourth quarter drive) were elite plays.
S Evan Williams: The third-year safety did a little bit of everything, and he does everything well. On the first drive, he helped stop Javonte Williams for no gain, forcing a punt. He rotated late and intercepted Dak Prescott in the red zone, halting a likely scoring drive. He blitzed six times, producing two quarterback hits. He made eight tackles without a miss. Jonathan Gannon consistently had him up near the line to show blitz before backing out. Without Edgerrin Cooper, Gannon has weaponized Williams as an attacking player.
WR Matthew Golden: It takes a special performance to overcome three drops and still land in the "studs." Golden is the rare athlete who is both smooth and explosive, and the result is he's open on just about every dropback. His 13 targets were well earned. Golden had two touchdowns fall out of his hands, and he dropped a low pass from Love that took away what could have been a YAC opportunity. But Golden ran a sick route on his 37-yard catch in the first half, made a nice running all-hands catch on the touchdown, completed a tough leaping catch in traffic for 21 yards, drew another pass interference penalty, beat a blitz with a 21-yard catch and ran a great route to get open for Love on a 12-yard conversion on third down in the fourth quarter.
EDGE Lukas Van Ness: He played both on the edge and as a three-technique, helping the Packers overcome depth issues up front. Van Ness finished with a team-high six pressures, including a sack. One of his pressures was a quick win versus the left tackle, forcing Dak Prescott to essentially throw the ball away on fourth down. The roughing penalty was a joke. Van Ness also dropped into coverage seven times, and he made a tackle after a short completion.
K Trey Smack: On a breezy night at Lambeau Field, Smack made all three field goals and both extra points -- providing a bounce-back performance from last week's unexpected three-miss afternoon. Smack's longest kick was a 44-yarder, but it was a big make considering he missed two between 40-49 yards against the Bears.
LB Ty'Ron Hopper: He had an illegal contact penalty moving the chains on third down, but Hopper also nearly had an interception in coverage, and he was elite on special teams, making three tackles. His takedown of Kavontae Turpin on the opening kickoff knocked the speedy returner out of the game.
Duds
DL Devonte Wyatt: Wyatt had a pair of sacks last week, but he played 36 pass-rushing snaps without a single pressure against the Cowboys. Left guard Tyler Smith got the better of him over and over again.
RB MarShawn Lloyd: His first two carries lost five yards, and he dropped a pass. Late in the game, he ran three times in four snaps and gained only six yards against a stacked box. Overall, Lloyd finished with 10 rushing yards on eight carries and a drop.
LG Laken Tomlinson/RG Travis Glover: The guard duo gave up seven pressures and struggled in the run game, and Glover had an illegally downfield penalty. The Packers will have decisions to make at both guard spots entering Week 7. It's Kevin Zeitler time at right guard. And if Aaron Banks is close to 100 percent, he'll have to be considered over Tomlinson at left guard against the Lions.
