Pete Prisco of CBS, a veteran analyst of pro football for three decades, sees big things coming for the Green Bay Packers in 2026. Prisco was in Green Bay for practices on Monday and Tuesday this week, and for the most part, he liked what he saw from Matt LaFleur's team.
In fact, Prisco is confident the Packers are going to get big-time performances from Jordan Love, Edgerrin Cooper and Evan Williams this season.

On Jordan Love: "Big year coming"
As I leave Packers camp, a few thoughts: Jordan Love said he has worked on his footwork a lot and he and Matt LaFleur both told me it’s much improved. He will cut down on the throws falling back, although he does make some good ones. Needs to be more balanced. Big year coming.

Love has
been talking about staying balanced in the pocket all offseason. Fewer fadeaways could make Love even more accurate in 2026.
On Matthew Golden
The receivers look good and everybody thinks Matthew Golden is in for a big year. But when I left last summer, I thought the same thing. This year, they believe it. Love said it was more of a numbers thing last year. Now he’s one of the top guys and it will play out that way.

Golden, who is assuming a starting role among the Packers' top three wide receivers, is a likely breakout candidate for the Packers in 2026. He's been a standout to start camp. Can Golden give the Packers a dynamic "X" receiver after losing Romeo Doubs?
On the offensive line
The offensive line is still a work in progress, especially with injuries, but they will be more physical once the starters are all back, which should mean a better run game.

The offensive line remains one of the team's biggest question marks. Not having Aaron Banks (knee injury management) and Zach Bako-Bewele (still working back into 11-on-11 periods) has forced the Packers to mix and match during team periods to open training camp. This group needs to rebound after a disappointing 2025 season.
On Jonathan Gannon's defense/Evan Williams
The defense will have to manufacture pressure until Parsons is back, but Jonathan Gannon’s defense, with three safeties on the field, will throw a lot of looks at teams to pressure the QB. I look for Evan Williams to play at an All-Pro level this year.

A big prediction for Evan Williams, one of the league's most underrated safeties. Imagine having two All-Pro level players on the backend of the defense. Finding ways to pressure the quarterback without Parsons during the first half of the season is a big task for Jonathan Gannon. He's been bringing pressure from all angles during camp.
On Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper didn’t have the type of season I expected last year, but this year will be different. The defense will be much more aggressive, which will suit his play and his ability to blitz. At times, the Packers were too vanilla on defense last year.

The Packers can't afford to be vanilla in 2026. Edgerrin Cooper's athleticism, especially as a blitzer, could turn his playmaking switch back on this year. Expect No. 56 to be a big part of how the Packers pressure the quarterback without Parsons.
On Micah Parsons
When will Parsons be back? When will he be Parsons again? It sounds like Week 6 is the target, but he is running now. They just have to make sure he’s the same player in November and December he has been in his career.

No one seems to know for sure when Parsons will be back, but he is almost certainly to miss at least the first five or six games. But Prisco's last point is the most important one: the Packers need Parsons back ASAP, but they also need him at 100 percent come the biggest games. It's a tough balance. Surviving the first two months is the key.
