Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur provided quick injury updates on a number of players before Thursday's practice and ahead of Sunday's showdown with the Detroit Lions. Among the players mentioned by LaFleur are Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, Jordan Love, Luke Musgrave, Josh Jacobs, Kevin Zeitler, Jordon Riley and Jonathan Ford.
All the injury updates from LaFleur on Thursday:
-- LaFleur's one-word answer when asked if there is any concern about Christian Watson or Matthew Golden for Sunday: "No." Both Watson (ankle) and Golden (shoulder) were added to the injury report to start the week.
-- On when he found out about Jordan Love's back injury: "After the game, he was pretty beat up. He took some shots. Saw him in there with the chiropractor
post game, so I knew something was up." Love was limited at Wednesday's walk-through practice, and LaFleur wasn't sure of Love's participation status for Thursday's practice
-- On Luke Musgrave, who remains on the PUP list after suffering a neck injury during the offseason, and if he thinks Musgrave will play again in 2026: "It's tough to say right now. I mean, until proven otherwise, I would say no. But I would never close the door on that."
-- On Josh Jacobs, who is back with the team after six weeks on the Commissioner's Exempt List: "We've been getting him ramped up. He's been in the building. We've been doing things with him in terms of the strength staff, our athletic training staff. You can't simulate football until you get out there, so I think these next two days will be great work for him as we ramp him up."
-- On how he will know if Jacobs is ready to play Sunday: "There will be a lot of conversation. And a little bit of the eye ball test as well."
-- On what he wants to see from Kevin Zeitler: "Continue to go out there and work and show improvement. I love the guy, he is wired the right way. In terms of his preparation level, his effort out there on the grass, being a great teammate, being supportive, he's everything you want in a player."
-- On defensive lineman Jordon Riley, who is designated to return from last season's Achilles injury: "I think he's shown a ton of progress. It was good to get him out there last week and get his feet wet a little bit. If he continues to show that progress, then we'll see where we're at, and he'd be ready to go."
-- On defensive lineman Jonathan Ford going on injured reserve: "It was definitely a curveball, but those happen all the time in this league. I think he'd been feeling it for some time, and he was playing through it. Then, it got to a point where he couldn't play through it."
